About Me
I’ve always liked being on this side of the camera. My father Walter and uncle, Clyde took lots of photos of me as a baby. My mom is fond of telling me that I would run from them when I saw a camera. I am definitely more comfortable making photos than being the subject of a photo.
My365 project began as a class assignment to photograph people that I don't know. I began by walked around the block near my office. Sometimes, I would wait for or someone to walk into my frame.
This assignment completely changed my relationship with my neighborhood. I began to look at my environment in a different way. I began looking for ways to engage instead of going from point A to B, I now saw Maria the mail carrier, Charles the bus driver, Edgar at the Super Foods Café.
The greatest reward of My 365 project is the awareness that I can find inspiration anywhere at any time, to see beauty in life’s ordinary moments and share that inspiration with others.
